ADD Delete
Did ye old ADD remove/delete on my daughters 1990 4Runner (22RE, 5 speed). Came out great. The truck already had AISIN manual hubs when we bought it a few years ago but last year the 4x4 wouldn't engage when we needed it in the snow so I finally got around to removing the ADD crap.
I took the actuator off and completely disassembled it, drove out the roll pin that holds the fork on and bought some metric washers with small OD's and slide 5 of them, I think(?), on the shaft the engagement fork slides on and put it all back together. Lost about a half pint of gear lube. Left the plug off for the dash light, we're smart enough to know what gear the T-case is in. Much nicer.
Took the hoses, valves and vacuum tank off and tossed 'em in the trash where they looked so natural. Sorry, no pics, by the time I thought of it my hands were all greasy and I didn't want to gunk up my camera.
