AC removal: pretty sure I'm good, but...

... before I go and leave something off of the truck during its' rebuild, I want to make sure I don't really mess anything up.

Truck: '88 4rnr with 22re

Bunch of stuff of happening to the truck during the head swap (got a Engnbldr stock head with 268 cam), and I thought to myself "why not take the compressor out right now." I don't use the AC, the refrigerant is exhausted (or missing), I cut the power supply and I don't want it in there. I'm gonna hang on the compressor so in the future I could put it back in for OBA, but for now, I want it gone.

I believe I won't be compromising anything by pulling the compressor and belt out, but I just want to confirm. I found only a couple posts regarding the AC unit, and they steered towards the OBA conversion.

So, looong story short, am I ok if I pull it and leave the compressor and belt off? ie: I don't need to install an idler pulley or anything, do I? My last truck (jeep xj: I know I know) needed an idler pulley if the AC was pulled, but the 4rnr doesn't appear to have anything else linked to it... right?

Thanks!

-Chris
