AC probs.

The ac has not worked since I bought this 4runner. Its a 93. I have a spare fan switch, I have checked the fuses under the dash (behind the glove box) and also replaced the clay looking relay/fuse under the blower motor. Any one else have any Ideas?

The fan will not blow on any speed??

Now on the origional one, I did see a burnt spot on the plug of the harness, and one of the little fingers on the back of the switch it self. Thats what made me think the switch is bad, but like I said I have 2 spares and neither one is doing the trick.

The only other thing is my org. switch is Black in color. Now my other 2 are a off white color. The plug is the same, and they have the same prongs.. One came from my 93 truck, and the other came from a runner from a wrecking yard.

I looked at the FSM schematic for the ac and really the only thing in between the blower switch and the blower is the big honking resistor.

Either that resistor got blown up, or your blower motor is out. I can't really see anything else. Having burn marks though, I'd say that one of those 2 is blown.

If you have a meter, just check the resistance for that resistor. Just see if it's open (very high ohm reading).

Mine blows like crap on everything but all the way up. I took it all apart and cleaned it all up, but didn't help a lot.

try banging on the blower motor with a hammer handle or something, sometimes if the blower motor has crapped out that will get it to run temporarily. Otherwise id check the resistor as stated above.

I found the prob. The owner that had it befor me had taken the 40amp squar fuse out when he mounted a toggle switch to run the fan. I had a friend that had a 4runner that was 1 year newer and I poped his glove box out and saw it... Guess I lucked out on that one
