AC evaporator connection problem

1991 Pickup
22re
4x4
Single Cab
No original AC

So I ordered a complete AC system from a junk yard in CO. I cant even find a junkyard in Austin that has any 22re pickups so other than a system from AC kits its my only option.

It was a pain getting into the dash but it gave me the opportunity to lay down some sound deading (cheap peel and seal roofing stuff from Lowes) and clean my carpet.

So far everything has been going well as far as the install goes except for the main connection to the evaporator. Now the invoice from the yard says the AC system came out of a 1990 and my truck is a 1991. But the connector that I have attached to the AC button is very different from the connector on the evaporator. The offset is wrong, 8 vs 9 wires/pins, and my connector is a bit wider.

Can I attempt to splice the two connections together (need to account for the extra wire)? Has anyone experienced the same problem. Thanks.

that connector looks very generic... have you tried looking at the local junk yards from different toyotas with that style of connector? just chop it off at the junk yard then piece it together back home!

you can even go through the extra trouble of pulling each terminal out of the connector individually and transferring it to the working connector... which is what I would do
