Usea peice of rubber hose just big enough to slip over the end of the spark plyug. Remember, these are aluminum heads so they are easier to mess up.
The plug should thread all the way in by hand, easily. What plugs are you using?

the main problem is getting them in to begin with. my hands are kinda big and I cant seem to maneuver very well even to sart them so i can then use a socket. right now im waiting for the temp to get up above freezing so doing this will be a bit more bearable.

x2 on the anti-seize, and when I installed them by hand I put the plugs into the spark plug socket so I got a little more leverage and did not have to be as close to the block. Once you do it though the next time is easy.
