? about a 94 4runner with a 3.0 with high miles
I know someone who is selling a 94 4runner in good condition with 216,000 on a 3.0 v6. At about 180,000 the head gasket, valve gasket, timing belt, water pump and new cv shafts installed. I know the 3.0 is not a reliable as the 3.4, but would anyone feel that $2000.00 is too much for this truck. It has almost no rust.
I would like anyone's input please.

Drive it and see how it goes. Sounds like a pretty decent price ,IF all the things done to it, as stated. Manual or automatic? I think the manual tranny is preferred, but you'd need to check out the clutch, etc.
I say 'go for it', if it all seems OK. It would be nice to know what headgaskets were used to do the replacement. Hopefully they used Toyota , Rock or Nitroseal -- trade names for the slipperplate steel design.

The automatic is particularly poorly matched with the 3.0 - turns it into a REAL dog (it's only kinda doggy with the manual LOL). If you have the choice, definitely lean towards the manual tranny.
