It sounds like the gear selector linkage might be out of adjustment. Can you get a second opinion from another shop? Maybe the shop just wanted to make some $$ off you

I adjusted the linkage and it is fine. You can hear and feel stress on the engine when it is in park and reverse and you inrease the rpm's

Shifting solenoids? Hydraulic fluid pump? Stuck valves in the valvebody? Low fluid?
Just a couple places to start. Mike in AR |

I don't know what else to do with this transmission. I read a lot of material on automatic tranny's and it is way over my mechanical ability.
Does anybody know if I should replace it with a 95 transmission due to a 95 ecu? Should it be a 90 because of the 90 engine? Thanks |

Why not just have it rebuilt? Then you don't have to worry about the electronics. It is my understanding that the electronics for some years of auto tranny are a bit different than for other years. Only thing is, I can't remember which ones interchange.
