95 4runner fuel leak

Just got this truck, filled her up tightend the "non'' vented gas cap. Drove around for 20-25 miles. Cel came on. Drove to O'Riellys bought "vented gas cap". Cel stayed on - I know the code needs to be cleared, that'll be my next question. Drove the runner 45 miles, stopped, got out, smelled gas. Fuel was running out a rubber tube near the right front wheel. It appeared to be attatched to the EVAP cannister. As I opened the "vented" gas cap I got a loud HISS as pressure escaped. A minute later the gas stopped flowing out the rubber tube ( some kinda vent?? ). Ran the runner the rest of the way home, Cincinatti 2 Cleveland with gas cap loose, no more trouble. Any insight would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. I am a Toyota virgin, been driving GM for 40 yrs and NOW? want something reliable? I know it took me a long to to come out of the ether.. DUH
Thanks John

I'll check if I can find it and give it a try. If that is not the problem will the truck still run swapping the lines??

No problem buddy I'm not always around either. I'm gonna take a shot at the lines Sat. Had it at the dealer yesterday - boy did I get spanked on this truck by the seller. But that seems to be going off topic so not sure if I should start another thread??
