Question 95 3.0 Timing Belt / No Start Help ASAP Please

Hey Guys,

I'm working on a 95 Toyota Pickup 3.0 V6 in the shop, I did headgaskets, timing belt.

I got everything back on, and now it won't start, it will start up after long cranking time, but it runs VERY bad and sounds like its missing then it will die when I let off the gas.

I took the front cover off again to recheck timing and when the crank is lined up to the 0 mark on the cover, both cam sprockets are lined up perfect. I install the distributor right back were I took it out, I make white marks on it.

I have checked all my connections, vacuum line's and they are all hooked up, there was two vacuum lines that I was not 100% sure went were so I might have 2 crossed on the passenger side of the intake manifold.

It sounds like the timing it out, but everything lines up perfect.

Any help would be great!

It may not help, but I believe that two of the connectors are the same and can be easily accidentally swapped. I think one is for the coolant temp. sensor. You could double check that one.

I will check that. It runs allot better now, I had a couple vaccum lines mixed matched.

But now its pissing out steam smoke out the exhaust pipe! WTF!

the lines that run up from the power steering pump for Vacuum hook to were? All the pictures don't show it very well.

I did replace both head gaskets so that should not be a problem, and there is a pretty high idle also.

It can take some time (10-30 minutes) for the accumulated moisture to dry out.

alright, I will let it run some more, it was doing this when I did the first start up also with NO coolant or water in the cooling system ( just wanted to check to make sure it started before putting fluid in it )
