95 3.0 in 90 pickup

I was wondering if a 95 3.0 would run off my 90 ecu and stuff or if they changed things? thanks for the input.

Put er in there. I have a 1990 engine in my 1994, and it runs just great, and passed smog with ease.

The engine will fit but no so sure about the compatability of the plugs going into the ecu.

Apparently not a California emmissions test shop.

That's what I'd try to do. You may have to keep some of the 1990 engine sensors. Like for example, does the 90 and 95 both have a oil pressure gauge? If not, just keep the original 90 sender and screw it into the block in place of the 95 sender.

I looked at both wiring harnesses and noticed for example that the connectors at the distriputer cap are different. If i cut and soder the other one on to my 90 wiring harness would that work? Sorry new at all this

Couldn't you just swap distributor caps? Seems like that would be easier. Like Mt. Goat suggested, I would swap as many of the '90 sensors to the '95 engine as would fit....provided the '90 sensors are still good. Soldering is rather tedious work. I swapped a motor from and '89 into my '92 and just used all the '92 electricals. Made it a lot easier.
