'94 4x4 - hard starting when hot - bucking in 2nd gear
My dad has asked me to come here and see if anyone has any ideas on this before heading to the shop.
He has a recently acquired '94 4x4 with the 22RE. It starts fine when cold, but when hot, it is hard to start and when it does, it has a "gassy" smell to exhaust. Also, when in 2nd, it will "buck". The CEL light is on, so I told him he needs to get the code ran and that may tell him the problem, but wanted to kind of gets a heads up here too.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks.
Well I guess I spoke too soon. He took it to a friend that is a mechanic and he said it was showing a different code. One was code "52", which he said he didn't know what it meant.
He also said that the wire to the knock sensor was broken... it worked on it some today and my dad went to get it... went to town and now he said it is running worse now that before.
I am beginning to think he wish he kept his '05 F150. He needed a 4wd though. Oh well.
