94 4runner with broken elocker ?
well i find this kidna odd that i broke mine and was woundeing if any body has broken the side gear
for some reson i think the axles are to short cause them to not fully go into the diff that or side load bad or just plain norm
you can see by how much about 3 mill going by the axle

Good question.
I know Bobby Long sells long inner shafts for electric lockers. Of course this is for front applications but since the diffs fit front or rear (solid axle) I wouldn't think it'd be different.
Anyone compare an elocker to a regular diff for spline engagement?

That spline engagement seems normal to me. I seem to remember that between 1.125 and 1.50 engagement was what I measured in the past.
Regarding the broken sidegear. I have seen this twice and documented it once. I'm wondering if a bent axle or axle housing has something to do with it. I also noted that some of the replacement sidegears have a thicker splined sleeve.

all right thsi is what i have gather form toyota during this hole bs
toyota after 2001 they change the rear diff as in part number changed you only chould buy it as a hole 95 and up use allt he same part number's and you chould buy the side gear by it self now is it diff not sure
here is the part number for the gear that breaks 41331-3401
this is for 96 to 01 now is it the saem as the old one not sure
i bet if the axles was just longer there whould not be an issue since the other side will never break cause it just thick gear it will strip be for breaking
so going to put some gears int here and do a test fit and see what is up i may ahve ot go custom axle that just longer

I have an update on that repair I did back in Nov....he went out on 1 trailride(in March) and broke the same side again. I'm thinking that it's not the lockers fault ....that something else is going on....maybe something bent.

If the locker motor is not properly timed the splines will engage a 'little' bit, making you think you're locked but it's not fully. The longer splined axle shafts spoken about earlier for the elockers are for the 8.4" landcruiser lockers, not the 8", longer splines not necessary
