hi all been a long time reader of this forum and its great but after much searching i can't seem to find anythng on here that is related to my problem. ive had my injectors cleaned when i changed the dreaded knock sensor and even though i've flushed my fuel lines by hand from the rails back and flushed the fuel tank and fuel pump also changed the fuel filter my injectors will still block up with this brown sandy kinda stuff in the little filters in the injectors. i usually get 2-3 weeks between having to take out the injectors and flush with clean fuel i don't know where this sandy kinda stuff is coming from it seems to be getting less and less each time so i just finished the process again last night but this time i left the injectors out and put a couple of trays under the rails and wound the engine over flushed through about 5 litres of fuel all of which came up clean. so today after 20 mins of highway driving i've got a blocked injector again does anyone have any ideas where this sandy stuff is coming from i'm so over it its getting ridiculous

P.S the pics are from when i first pulled the injectors before i had them professionally cleaned but its still the same kinda sandy stuff that blocks them

Was there any corrosion inside the tank? I would think that even if it was coming from the tank the fuel filter would catch it though.

That much stuff should'nt be able to get by a fuel filter that works. It should plug the filter itself up.
Did you use an OEM Toyota filter? I have cut Toyota filters open and I know that they would never pass that kind of crud.
You will likely have to drop your tank and thoroughly clean it, maybe line it with POR-15, or similar if its really rusty.. Then put in a genuine Toyota filter.
Alcohol laced fuels sometimes contribute to tank rusting, as does running with little fuel in the tank.

yeah i had the tank taken out and fully flushed and re-lined by the mechanic shop but they said there wasn't much that came out of it and it came up pretty good but since ive had the tank done i've fluched the lines again and changed the fuel filter

my first filter was an OEM toyota one and after the tank has been done i changed to a fuel miser filter
