93 pickup electrical problem
I have a 93 pickup 4x4 with 22re. Was driving home and fuel gauge dropped from 3/4 to E. Went to use left blinker and could hear clicking but dash arrow wasn't flashing. Battery gauge would pulse with the clicks. Right turn signals were all good. Well got home and started looking around thinking bad ground but have no idea. Bulbs are good, fuse was blown as was hazard/horn fuse. They blow every time and I've cleaned and retightened what grounds I could find. Checked battery and alternator with multimeter and they are good. Cleaned battery terminals too. Not sure if it's something simple or not but I'm about to pull my hair out.

Since you state both the Turn signal and hazard/ horn fuse open.
Also had trouble with the fuel gauge. did you notice any other gauges drop to zero as well ??
Since all of these circuits share the same ground point behind the plastic kick panel on the left side door post perhaps that is loose ??
The only thing the Hazards and Turn signals share besides the bulbs is the flasher .
Did your horn work like it should before this started ??
Horns do get full of dirt and get old and tired after all these years .
With the Engine running check with your Meter from positive battery terminal to different clean bare metal points around the engine bay.
Anything you check should have almost the same voltage as what you get across the battery terminals .
Sometimes ground cables look good to the eye and appear to be clean.

Thanks for the response. The fuel gauge is the only gauge not operating. Now it acts like the battery is dead and won't crank, but if I turn the key on and off a couple times it will start. Headlights started flickering whenever I engaged the brakes. Whenever I turn on lights and radio the truck sounds like it is losing power I still get 14.2 volts at the battery. Horn never had a problem til now. The ground by left kick panel is clean and tight.

Wondering if you ever got this figured out?
I have a '93 3.0 that keeps blowing the turn signal fuse/ hazard fuse. It seems to only happen when I use the right hand blinker. To me this would rule out a bad ground. I also had a broken lens on the right rear, wondering if water could have fried something in there, I replaced the bulb thinking it could be a loose filament. But I'm still burning fuses. Nothing obvious under the bed of the truck, no melted or pinched wires. Anyone suggest the next place to look?

uh, the right rear combination lamp? Do it the easy way to start; unscrew the unit (four screws) and unplug it. Does it still blow fuses? If not, the problem is in the combination lamp. If so, the problem lies elsewhere. If that's the case, finding it can't be that hard; it has to be a damaged wire, and it's probably right there where the lens was broken.
