93 pickup electrical foul-up
Hi,
So I have a 93 ext cab pickup and the key is now useless, I'll start from the beginning.
I was driving home along the nice bumpy twisty mountain roads and the aftermarket stereo starting turning on and off. I get home, didn't think much of it and when I tried to start it about an hour later I got nothing. Put the key in, no door buzzer, no dome light, no stereo, no starting.
So, I put a multimeter across the ignition switch plug to check it, referencing this diagram ( http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../3ignition.pdf ) and I see connectivity between the points for the specified key positions.
So I'm about to check the stereo system and I'll update later but I would really appreciate any ideas in the meantime.
Thanks much
-Kean

Did your radio drain the battery??
Did the loose connection cause one of the fusible links to open.
Do you have a bad ground that is causing all your problems.
Start at the battery and go from there.
Terminals and battery posts clean and tight??
From your lack of anything I would look at the battery real good then check as in remove and clean your ground connections

Thanks for the speedy reply,
A multimeter on the battery reads 12.47 and the terminals and posts are clean. I first replaced one ground that was totally severed, and still nothing. The ground from the speaker amp is clean and there is one more I can see going under the skid plate on the front, I will check that one and get back to you.
Thanks

Update -:- I got to the last ground and wire brushed it. Still no change.
