93 Pickup 4wd Power Loss

I have a 93 Pickup 4wd. It has recently started acting up. It isn't consistently doing it just here and there. It starts fine but ones I take off it seems hesitant jumps around a bit unless I have the gas pedal to the floor than its fine. It only does it in 1st and 2nd gear after 3rd it's fine or when speed builds up it runs like a new one. I've had a few people look at it at different shops they are stumped too with the inconsistencies. One shops says it acts as of its trying to jump time which could be a good possibility. One shop says the transmission is trying to go out which doesn't make sense. And the last shop says it just had too many miles on it. Which as we all know yodas run forever it's at 236000 as we speak. I just had a tune up done about 3 months ago. Is it too soon to try another tune up to see if the sparks aren't getting good connection? Any input opinions or info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Move. These people you are talking to are idiots. First, what engine/transmission do you have?

Sounds like it is mis-firing. Does it do it when warm or cold? Check distributor cap, rotor, plug wires and spark plugs. Run the truck at nigt time and look for sparking around the ignition coil. Coil might be bad and shorting.

If it is doing it when warm and not cold check your wiring to you oxygen sensor and also check oxygen sensor. The wires tend to get burned on the exhaust.

Also check for leaks on the tube from the air flow meter to the throttle body. Make sure all clamps are tight.

Check all ground straps.

That should be a good start
