93 4x4 3.0 sr5 oil pan removal

I am new to this forum and not an experienced mechanic. I have some experience on an 1988 22re but I am now working on a new ( to me ) 1993 sr5 4x4 3.0 L truck. I need to take off the oil pan. I looked at it and cannot figure out where to gain access - from the front of the oil pan or from the back. The manual I have is of no use. does anyone have a suggestion as to what is the easiest way to take out one of these oil pans? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

I believe you have to either A. Remove the front diff or B. lift up the engine to be able to get the pan out, otherwise you wont be able to remove it due to the pickup tube.

sorry to bring up an old thread. if my diff is dropped 4 inches lower than stock will i have to remove it to take off the oil pan? If not what is easier, lift up motor or remove diff? (btw my transmission is already out so that doesn't need to be unbolted.)

Depending on how many things are hooked to the engine it might be easier to drop the diff. Just my opinion

Thanks I replaced both cv axels less than a year ago and wanted to avoid having to do that all over again. Guess I don't have much choice

For future reference, if the transmission is out and your have a 4inch diff drop, the diff doesn't have to come out in order to remove the oil pan.
