'93 4Runner neighborhood crackhead cat delete

I woke up this morning to find my catalytic converter had been conveniently removed by a neighborhood crackhead. How did he know I'd been thinking about doing a cat delete? Needless to say, my truck is my DD so she had to be roadworthy and fast. Here's a quick and dirty straight pipe how-to.

Step 1: Take your grinder and cut off the hanger that's now conveniently in your way.

Step 2: This time with a grinding wheel, take down the crappy welds that held on the hanger.

Step 3: Mock up your new 2" ID straight pipe making sure the crackhead left you just enough room to get a clamp on.

Step 4: Get your impact wrench and hammer down those clamps. Don't forget to replace the rubber hanger the crackhead cut to pieces.

Well folks, there you have it. A $24, 1 hour straight pipe special. For those wondering, smog/emissions testing in my area is being canceled come December. If you're still upset about me not having a cat, tell that to the lowlife that ripped me off.

Was it a factory cat? Sucks but quick thinking and workable solution.

No, I don't think it was a factory cat. Are those worth more?

The newer model ones are. Was becoming quite the problem awhile back in Washington. I don't imagine the cheap mag a flow that was on my truck would be worth much. Believe it is the titanium that is worth most. Wa was trying to regulate the recycling of used cars cause the amount being stolen.

Our neighborhood crackheads haven't learned about ripping cats yet. They're still ripping copper wire and pipes, even doing live electrical substations like a humongous bug zapper.

Crack heads are the worst. The exterminator's (police) can't seem to a thing about them in the North West. One was so bold -IT- stole the cat out of my friends truck during an 8-5pm job in the company parking lot. Another one stole the Optima battery out of my old Chevy PU. I can't stand those toothless dirt bag's!!!

There was one that was trying to steal grounding wire for a lightening storm off a building in a T-storm. Didn't end well, he was blown off the building. Last I heard he lived, slightly above a cucumber.
