I'm assuming you have the A340H auto tranny. Sounds like your clutch packs. Does your rig move in L,2,3 or D? Have you tried it 4L? There is a link in the stickies, at the top of the page, to an online FSM, that with walk you thru how to perform a manual shift test for the auto tranny.......

possible causes according to my '94 FSM.....
Manual linkage out of adjustment
Valve body or primary regulator faulty
parking lock pawl faulty
torque converter clutch faulty
converter drive plate broken
oil pump intake screen blocked
transmission faulty.
