93 4 runner tranny problems after changing oil?
I changed the oil in my 93 4 runner for the first time since I bought it 2 months ago, and now for some reason, the transmission takes a while to shift into gear, and when I try to take off, it doesn't until my RPMS are up. When the RPM's are up, it moves into gear fairly smoothly, almost as if its a manual and you're slowly letting out the clutch. Since I've bought it, It shifted somewhat hard when it was cold, but started shifting super smooth once it warmed up, I was actually going to go to the transmission shop to do a whole flush tomorrow...
The fluid looks good, but honestly, it's really hard to tell as it was night time and for some reason my ˟˟˟˟ing dipstick is black. I'm also pretty sure that I didn't drain the tranny fluid as almost exactly 5qts came out and it smelled like oil.
Only odd thing that happened, is when I went to shift to reverse, the button on top of the lever got stuck down but wasn't engaged, so I used the shift override button on the plate above the lever to shift into reverse. That made the button pop back up again.
Plan for tomorrow is to pull the pan, see if there's a lot of shavings, and then replace the filter and gasket then top of with some new fluid and go from there.
If there's minimal shavings, I should be good as far as the internal gears go right?
I got a feeling it's just a coincidence, but it just seems so strange!

After you drained the engine oil and you added 4-5 quarts to the engine what level does it now show on the dipstick?
It really sounds like you drained the tranny.
