93 3.0v6 MOTOR HELP

I have a jasper motor that has 1500 miles on it the has been sitting in my uncles truck for the past 3 years he flipped the truck shortly after having it put in. motor ran perfect 3 years ago after it flipped. i just pulled it and put it into my toyota and it has a knock in what seems the best i can hear its comming from the rear we pulled the valve covers and then the intake to check and see if something somehow got dropped into the motor nothing is in there and all looks perfect next we have to pull the heads but im just wondering if anyone has any ideas

all we know is it ran when parked
the cams look perfect
nothing in the cylinders
top of the heads look good if you take the spark away and turn it over there is no noise but if you add spark and turn it on it knocks more based in RPM. its a deep sounding knock similar to a rod knock. any ideas of what could cause that just from sitting? thanks

My buddy's truck did this, sounds like a hammer is being whacked against the side of the block? Three days later he shot a rod out the side of it. SO he paid 600 bucks for a new motor with 0 km on it (since rebuild) the catch was that the motor had been sitting in the junkyard for 8 months, as soon as we started the new motor up once it was in the truck, sure enough there was that knock, and currently the motor is still in the truck and being driving daily, so this new motor in his truck could have the same problem as yours if it isn't a rod knock?

so did he ever find out what it was that was knocking. im going to take the heads off tomaro night from what i can tell its not a rod knock and i stuck a magnet in the tops of all the cylinders and there's no metal so i dont know what was hitting hopefully i find out tomaro. it sounds expensive but i really hope not i just dont understand what could make it knock like that just from sitting.

Well the first time a rod shot out the block, more then likely that's what it is again, but it doesnt make sense that it ran fine, then sat, then did it all of the sudden

x2 on pulling the pan (hopefully, you've got a suspension lift). Try to wiggle the rods side to side. If it's a real bad bearing (and knock), the rod cap will be darker than the rest. I ended up having to pull the engine, take out the crank and get it machined for an oversized bearing. It runs great now.

Machine work ~ $120
bearings (mains and rod) ~ $50

First thing you should do is spend $2 on some Platigage.
