93 22re wont start
I have a 22re single cab 5 speed driving down the road the other day it just stopped no noise to clank or bang just stopped I've changed fuel pump, maf ,cap ,plugs ,wires.I'm completely stumpped as it now has no spark .I put the gm conversion on the truck still nothing.I'm pulling my hair out and need this truck to work

- Check for CEL codes
- Pull the distributor cap off and see if it's turning
- Pull plugs and check for compression
- jumper Fp to B+ in diag connector and see if fuel pump runs with the ignition on
Since you have no spark, the likely causes are:
- failed signal between distributor, igniter, and ECU. Should throw a code
- non-rotating distributor - easy to see with the cap off
- Failed coil. Use your multimeter and this. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../4onvehicl.pdf

Do you have any lights on the dash ?
Check the cable from the battery to the fuse box on the passenger side of the engine. The cable goes to the 80 amp fuse . My cable was spliced by the previous owner and when the splice broke the truck wouldn't start but I did get the lights on the dash.

Distributor turns have fuel to the rail u have power to coil and have power at ignighter just won't spark I've checked all fuses 10 times I've searched for broken wires found nothing I'm completely stumpped I know it's something simple a wire or loose connection something dumb

DC "power" to the coil and/or igniter is not enough. They require carefully timed pulses to generate the spark voltages. That's why it's important to check for codes. If a signal between the distributor and/or igniter and the ECU is missing, it should throw a code which will help you narrow down the problem. If there are no codes, then you may have to substitute in a known good coil and/or igniter to rule those parts out. Those components are hard to troubleshoot directly without a good oscilloscope and a knowledge of what to look for.
But, first do the tests referenced in the FSM (the link I posted in my first post above). Those are simple tests you can do with a multimeter and may lead you right to the problem.

Ok went down the list you sent.everything checks out and still no spark should I pull the steering column covers and look at the actual ignition and check all of those wires

ok pulled cover to steering column so that I could see the ignitionn wires the round white cylinder that all of the ignition wires connect to in the back of the ignition Wiggles around quite freely is that normal could that have anything to do with it

Code 13 means that the ECU is not getting the NE signal from the distributor. Without that signal, the ECU has no idea when to generate a spark, so it doesn't do anything. That is the reason for your no spark condition.
Code 14 means that the ECU is not receiving the IGF response from the igniter. In your case, this is expected, since the ECU has not told the igniter to do anything.
You most likely have either a broken (or shorted) wire between the distributor/igniter and the ECU, or (less likely) a defective distributor. I would measure continuity between the distributor and the ECU with a multimeter. Also measure continuity to ground to check for shorts. Here's a link to the FSM info on the 22re ignition system. http://www.ether3al.com/93fsm-mobile/ignition.html

test the coil. don't meant to circumvent the troubleshooting tree, but they are prone to failure. the igniters go out as well. i've had best luck replacing as a set.
