93 22re no compression on cyl 1&2
ok guys im having problems with my yota, the other night i was on the way to my brothers showe and i was moving preety good wen i started to hear a funny noise it sounded like the bottem end was knocking. well i pulled up to the stop sign and its missing real bad so i pull across the street and park it for the night, well the next day i pulld it to the shop and did a compreesion test. number 1 cyl 5psi #2 10 psi #3 170 psi an #4 180psi. i replaced the head and head gasket about two years ago and havnt had any problems till now, im thinking the head gasket is gone again but the trucks not over heating or smoking so im kinda lost. but it only nocks wen you stab the gas kinda sounds like spark knocking and it dosent miss wen you rev it up past 1500 rpm. so what could it be?

The way I look at it, you're going to have to pull the head no matter what. Might as well start with that. Chances are you've got a blown head gasket again. Do you have any oil and coolant mixing in either the crank or cooling system?
It sucks, but I just did it 2 weekends ago, and If I were to do it again, it would only take a day. The thing is you'll probably want to take the head to a machine shop to check for warpage, cracks and have them do a valve job.
Curious which head you put on and what kind of head gasket you used?

Silly Q, but you had the head reworked after it messed up the 1st time, right?
They checked for warpage, cracks, valves and guides...?

thanks guys for your advice, I pulled the head this afternoon and sher enough it was the head gasket. wen I done the head job the first it wasnt the gasket, the head was cracked between the valves, so I put a new compleet head on it. It was a ebay special, it came with all the gaskets. But no ther was no water or oil mixing or over heating. Buy this time im going with all felpro gaskets and shaving the head

Felpro sells a full gasket kit for the head, which was really tempting for me to buy. But... I've *heard* that you should really go ahead and buy a Toyota head gasket. You dont want to go and take the head off again in another 2 years do you??
I ended up just buying the intake plenum, lower intake, exhaust, and rear gasket from felpro though.
