92 Pickup Trouble Cranking
Motor is the 3.0
Last week I went out to warm the truck up before work and it wouldn't crank (turning over good but never fired up). Came home from work after lunch and didn't touch a thing and it fired right up. Next morning same thing, wouldn't crank. Wouldn't crank later on in the morning either. Popped the hood and looking around noticed the coil wire loose (fired right up). So I bought a new coil, distributor cap and rotor to install when I got the time. Started fine the rest of Saturday and Sunday without installing the new parts.
Monday morning it wouldn't start. Changed out my parts Monday evening and it fired up. Tuesday morning it wouldn't start, shot a little starting fluid in the intake and it would spit and sputter but not stay running. So I got a new fuel pump and got it installed last night and it cranked up and ran fine.
This morning it would not crank again (turning over good but never fired up). Now I'm kind of thinking it may be the fuel relay.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting? It's my dd, so need to get it fixed asap.
Thanks

Next time is doesn't fire, try to make sure it is one or the other...fuel or spark.
Keep an old spark plug handy, pull one of the wires and ground against block. Have someone else crank it to check spark. This will narrow your intermitant problem down a little.

i bought a 91 pickup with the 3.0 in nonrunning condition in august and i still havent been able to get it running. it will turn over fine. it has new plug wires, fuel filter, and a coil pack and igniter from a jukyard.the fuel pump is a used one out of my parts truck and i have checked and confirmed that it is getting fuel all the way up to the fuel rail, but i have not checked the fuel presure. i have also pulled one plug and let it ground on the block while turning the engine over and it was sparking. i might need to do this to all the plugs? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, i would like to get this truck running so i can drive myself to work again lol
