92 p/u fuel pump "quit"?

So I had my truck (92 p/u with 22re and manual trans) parked for the last couple of weeks while installing a new ball joint lift, shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc... When the work was done, I went to start the truck - truck started right up, then died. I kept trying to start and the same result. If I gave the truck gas with the accelerator pedal it would die even quicker. I have done some searching and haven't found a very clear answer as to what might be the problem. I have eliminated to fuel pump as the problem by jumping the b+ and f terminals at the diagnostic port by the fuse box under the hood. With those jumpered everything works fine and truck runs great. Not a permanant fix though as I assume I am just bypassing something important! I've tried reading the factory assembly manual to try to track it down but have not succeeded. I checked the relay and it seems to be ok as do all the fuses. I'm thinking possibly a ground break, but not sure where to look. I'm still pretty new to the toyota world and have limited knowledge as to what is what, and where it is located. If anyone has had the same or similar problem and can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. This is keeping me from wheeling as the jumper wire becomes dislodged quite easily. Thanks in advance.

If the fuel pump test jumper works:

Then likely there is an issue with the AFM Fc contact:

Or the CO relay coil for that circuit:
