92 22re gauge swap

I have checked out many threads but can't find where the tach wire comes from and goes on the instrument cluster of a fuel injected 22re. Everything works but the tach and it doesn't move at all. The cluster has 4 plugs in the back. Any ideas?
Thanks

The wire goes under the cover to the terminal where the black wires goes on to (cover that is covering the coil). I think is says -. If your truck did not have a tach then the wire will not be there to hook up. You will have to run a wire to the dash plug D7.

not entirely true... my 91 didn't come factory with a tach cluster, but I swapped in an SR5 cluster and low and behold, it was prewired, and I didn't have to run any wires tach worked right away

It's still a mystery to what decides if it comes prewired for a tach... so far, it's hit or miss... no one really knows...

iamsuperbleed,
Ya I have heard of this. I have not seen it myself but have heard of others talking about it. I assumed that if it was in the harness then it was hooked up as well and he would not be asking the question but good point. Maybe it had to do with other options like automatic trans, V6....... Mine was a 95 V6 auto and didn't have it.
