91 Surf build-up thread
I just picked up a 1991 hilux surf a couple weeks ago. Only 91,000kms on it. The only thing that wasnt in great shape was the dented/rusty rear bumper, it was easy to tell that the woman i bought it off wasnt lying that it was her vehicle. So i picked up a minty bumper off craigslist for $120, as long as on old rusty hitch i picked up for $20.
I've been researching this forum along with the hiluxsurf forum alot the last week or so. Ive decided on doing a suspension lift with LC coils/ BJ Spacers. I picked up some coils for a case a beer and am waiting on the bjs.
Heres a pic of how it sits now, and a few others.
Before
The old bumper I replaced
The hitch and LC coils after I took the wire wheel to em and painted it all
This weekend Im putting in the coils and the hitch so I should have some nice pics up of everything being installed.

Alright so heres the progress I made this weekend. I got my coils out and realized i had front FJ80 coils, so I found some rear coils on CL and picked them up this morning. I got them installed fairly easily with the spring compressors I found in my shop. I got my hitch installed as well. Heres some pics.
Could anyone give me suggestions on how you raised/lowered the lspv?

4Crawler has LSPV lift brackets available. I would see if maybe those could work

I got everything in from 4crawler last weekend, LSPV bracket, panhard rod bracket, BJ spacers, and the front diff drop. I picked up a set of 33's on steel rims for $50 on craigslist. After hours of wrenching I've finally got it all installed. For the shocks I went with the Procomp 3000 series. Here are some pics:
All I need now is an alignment.
