I have scraped the idea of swapping in a diesel or a 3.4L. I'm going with a rebuilt 3.0liter and I'm in search of a knock sensor that will work with my 91 4Runner. Has anyone used an aftermarket sensor? If so who was the manufacture? A little info on my 4Runner. The build date was 01/91 and the 4th digit on the vin is V if that helps.

Update on knock sensor hunt. My local Toyota dealer parts guy hooked me up with a huge discount on a knock sensor and the wire. Rebuilt engine should go in next weekend.

In a pinch I go to my Toyota dealer and get the part number from them and then a search on Amazon or Ebay can usually find the same part for a lot less. You being in Michigan, probably not a lot in the yards for you get some parts from. Welcome to Yotatech.

Yeah not much left in the way of 90's yota parts in junk yards, but every once in awhile you find some good parts. Thanks for the welcome.
