I'm having a really big problem with my 91' toyota pickup with the 3vze motor. For some odd reason I went out to my truck and went to start it. I turned the key and heard the EFI relay click. But when i go to turn the key to start the motor I get absolutely nothing at all. I can barely hear the starter relay clicking like its not even working but if i feel it, the starter relay barely clicks i can barely feel it. I have no clue whats wrong. I go to turn the key to start the truck, nothing clicks at all, and also I get no power to my fuel pump. I replaced the circuit opening relay and nothing yet. I just dont know if a bad starter relay will make my start not click at all. Usually with a bad starter people usually get that infamous clicking when they turn the key to "start" but I get no sounds at all just a barely noticeable faint click from the green starter relay. And my fuel pump gets no voltage to it at all. Please help me out!! All help is appreciated.

not to question you.... but did you check the battery?

try another battery / jumping it and leaving it to charge a little longer... if the battery is really dead it wont click...

The battery is brand new pushing out 12.4 volts, I mean when i turn the key to the "on" setting the EFI relay clicks, but when I turn the key to "start" i get nothing at all, not any click what-so-ever. I dont understand because it seems as if the starter relay wants to work but it only clicks when i let go of the key to release it back to the "on" position and is so faint I can barely hear or feel it. I'm getting power from the ignition switch everytime I turn the key on but cannot trace where the problem is occuring

brand new batteries can go dead too, ask me how I know...
it's putting out 12.4v at rest, but you need a load tester to verify if the battery is actually up to the task. Get a charger or jumper on there and see if it helps... might as well eliminate the simple things first right?

My old '91 3.0 m/t truck did this every once and awhile, I'd go out tap the starter, and she'd fire right up. Only once in awhile tho.....

Ok. I jumped the two wires on the starter and got the motor to crank over but it still will not fire and I am getting nothing from the fuel pump. I have no clue what could be wrong? I'm thinking it may be a bad ignition switch. I got an ignition switch about 3 months ago from a junk yard out of an 89' 22r and bolted it up to my 91 3vze. Does anyone know if these two parts may be slightly different in their ignition switches? Does the ignition switch control the fuel pump when trying to start the vehicle?
