'91 22REC 2WD oil pan OUT!
As in: I need to get it out. After 280,000 grimy miles.
Low comp in #1 cylinder, pulled head for new gasket, pulled face for timing chain and dampners, need to pull oil pan to hone #1 cylinder and rering. I must get the oil pan out of it's cage. Tried jacking engine up, close but no cigar. Also tried removed castle nuts on front steering link but how can I parts to separate? Is it a matter of a puller for the idler and Pitman arm? or should I be able to pull things apart without that?
So close.....
Thanks for the help.

Short on money and long on time. Truck is great otherwise. I know I should rebuild, but that's not an option right now. Unless it's less than $400 dollars.
Any thoughts on the oil pan?

I have the crossmember out and have removed castle nuts across the front. Am afraid to put too much monkey on it as things have a way of breaking. I tried block of wood and hammer, but to no avail. Do I need to remove steering dampner as this puts pressure on the steering link? How easily should the steering link come out?
Book says disconnect at idler and pitman arm and lay steering link out of the way to remove the pan. That's where I'm stuck.
