Just picked up a auto 4x4 1990, 1 senior owned, 80K mile, stored winters, mint sr5 pickup that was rolled for cheap. I'm taking the "mint bed" that received NO damage in the rollover. My buddy wants the 3.0 for his 94 4x4 pickup with a stick. Now i noticed the plug for the distributor was different along with a few minor things. Is the wiring the same for the dist? Just a different style plug? Or do i need to swap wiring harnesses for it to run? He also wants to use the wire harness from the sr5 for the factory cruise/power everything that he wants to swap over. What about the speedo? His 94 would have a speed sensor right? I know the 90 is cable. Will the speedo work or does he have to convert the 94 to a cable drivin speedo? 3.4 is out of the question because of the cost of the swap here in michigan. It's just not worth it since im giving him the whole perfect interior/wiring/3.0 for like $300. He doesn't mind the work...(it's a project he says). I also called the dealer to see if the truck was eligible for the HG recall, and if it was done. VIN wasn't "In our database" because the truck is over 10 years old. But he thought the only years that were covered was 93-94. I thought it was like 1990/1 - 1995? Truck is a 90 that was built in late 1989. Anyone know the last year for asbestos HG's? Wondering if im lucky or not. Thanks for any help...sorry if i made any mistakes...it's 4:50am
