90 22RE 4-speed surging at 40 to 45Mph in 4th gear
OK. Here's the story Guys. Valves are set at 0.008"-in & 0.12"-out, no rocker clicks louder than any other. Idle set right at 750 rpm. IG Timing is is set at approx 6 degrees btc. It doesn't hunt at idle at normal running temp. Engine has about 150 miles on it. I haven't driven it faster than 45 except once at 50 for a couple of minutes since the rebuild. I have been accused of not loading an engine when I drive. I drive 9 miles to work and around a small town. I suspect the surging occurs when I'm driving in a low torque range, but it's weird because the truck doesn't surg at lower speeds when I'm in 4th. It didn't surg at 50!!
I hope you folks have some ideas because I'm stumped. Me
