So I bought a 89 3.0 v6 5 speed for cheap to swap a solid axle in to to build a wheeling truck. So my problem is is that the truck starts right up and idles fine but with trying to move the truck and give it throttle it sputters and kind if chokes out and just runs very rough. Even in neutral when I rev the motor it just doesn't rev up very well. I took the intake tube off and sprayed the intake down with throttle body cleaner. I left the intake tube off After and it wouldn't even start. I checked to make sure fuel was getting up to the motor and it was. So I put the intake tube back on and it started and barley ran till it cleared up at idle but still won't rev up. In not 100% sure where to go from here. I'm new to the toyota scene and don't really know these motors very well. I'm just not sure where to go. I'm new to the forum and hope I posted this in the right section any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do a compression test and see if any cylinders have low pressure the 3.0's are know for blown head gaskets..
