88 rough idle and stalling

88 rough idle and stalling
I just bought a 1988 pickup with 22r motor. Checked all wires, distributor, coil, changed plugs, has good spark. Changed fuel filter. Checked for vacuum leaks couldn't find any. Timing is at 8degrees. Getting 2.5lbs fuel pressure to Weber carb.
Runs better then when I first bought it. When sitting it idles at 1000rpm backed out on idle screw on Weber 32/36 carb. But doesn't go any lower. Idling fine when not moving. Revving engine sounds good. Revs up and down, no stall. Then I drove uphill for short time and came to level ground started idling rough and the stalled. So I started it right up and then drove around on flat ground and back down hill and never died. The truck starts up with no problem. BI've driven in steeper hills and the truck doesn't stall as I'm going up. But idles rough, if I raise rpm it smoothens out. But when I take my foot of the gas it will idle rough again.
Any of u guys have any clue why the rough idle and stall?

When I first bought my 93' toy pu 22re it had an aftermarket coil pack ('OEM' brand) that was brand new. The thing wasn't worth its weight in ˟˟˟˟˟, causing misfires on 2 cylinders intermittently.
You could also try playing with your timing.
The crank pulley (with timing marks on it) is known to spin sometimes and ultimately cause the timing to look like its at 8deg BTDC but not actually operate the engine at 8deg because it has spun out of place.
tl;dr
-Get a coil pack from junk yard and try it
-Try adjusting your timing or checking to see if crank pulley has spun. Sounds to me that it is too far advanced since advanced timing increases idle.

Take a look at the link below under Auxiliary Accelerator Pump. It's a lot like the "Cold start injector" found on 22re's and it seems it is prone to failure as well.

The high idle still bugs me, but you could take a look at the EGR (if you even have one). EGRs can cause rough idle when they stick open at the wrong time.
