Hey guys so my friend has an 88 yota with ifs front, just bought it a few weeks ago, first thing out 33x12.5 tires on it, as far as i could tell the only lift done was a 1in block and cranked torsion bars. So i put some front balljoint spacers in it and 2in tapered blocks in the rear, but it rode really stiff, so i loosened the torsion bars about an inch lower to soften the ride. And when i did the lift i didn't notice any positive camber changes. But my friend pulled up yesterday and i noticed a bit of positive camber. We took off the 33s and bought 31x10.5 tires and put them on and the front has a lot of excessive positive camber now. Took it to get aligned and they said the idler arm and lower balljoints werewere bad fit having excessive play. Would that cause the positive camber changes? it seems like the idler arm only has to do with the steering. The balljoint looked fine to me but I'll take another look tonight. The shop said they could shake the wheel around while it was jacked up, and during my research i guess that points to the idler arm?.

bump. i changed the idler arm but like I thought it had no effect on camber, the balljoint in the idler arm did have some play in it, so hopefully the alignment shop will align it now.
