id like to stay with the ifs but the flex is the problem. i was thinkin about building new axles with u-joints instead of the cv ones because the inner joint is the limitation for flex in the ifs. basically the same as a square drive shaft except shorter of course. and the t100 axle and longer control arms is not the answer. ends up too high

I fail to see how an axle with different gears will improve flex.
If you want more flex you need a better suspension or cut the IFS off and SAS.
Like saying a new shifter knob will affect how cold your AC blows.

well the gear ratio wont do anything for flex, i just picked up a set of axles(free) they have 3.07 gears, im trying to figure out what happens if i put the axles in the way they are.

if you put that ratio of gears in you will have a hard time driving the truck.
sure at hwy speeds your rpms will be MUCH lower BUT you will not have the power to get up to any speed.
for that size gear you would need a 24" tire or so.

anyways
the thing is im on a very tight budget, fab is not a problem, parts are, so free is free, if i cant make it then my friend can, nad from what i've seen gears are expensive. 2wd not so bad but 2 sets

With 3.07 gears, you're engine will have a heck of a time turning your tires. That will kill your gas mileage, and hurt your performance offroad, because the engine will not be able to stay in the powerband - it simply will not have the power, especially going over obstacles and up hills offroad, which is obviously the goal, since you are looking for more flex out of your suspension.

ok change of direction
exactly how well does a locker work? will it make a drastic difference in my stock 88 4runner off road, and i dont think i'd like a spool which as far as i've seen its the cheapest other then a lincoln locker.
