87 pickup clutch

87 pickup clutch

I will go out to My 87 pickup and start it and start driving the clutch will feel good and it will shift smooth and then about 45 mins to an hour later the clutch will get spongey feeling and not want to shift...the resevoir holds fluid....please help.

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago. Turns out my clutch master went bad and was leaking just a little bit into the cab up under the dash. Barely noticeable unless you are down there with a flashlight.

Anyway, replacing it fixed the problem.

Do you smell burning clutch at all??

Clutch might be slipping or your hard on the clutch .

Once it gets hot it won`t want to go into gear

It could be burning clutch that i smell i get a real faint wiff of something and yeah it wont want to go into gear after the truck has been running awhile.
