I followed you directions to the letter and ...oh do mine look good
took me awhile ...tip if anyone tries it and over sprays use 600 grit sandpaper to not damage the "texture"

On the inside of your top, yes. On the outside? No. You need to have that professionally painted to match the truck. For what its worth, the tops didn't come from the factory super glossy like the paint was.

i repainted my top myself i took it off put it in the garage and got some acrylic enamel. i wanted semi gloss black but they only had gloss and flat. so i went with the gloss thinned it with mineral spirits till it was the consistency of milk, used a high density roller and went to town. i painted everything but the glass (army style) and it looks fantastic. even better when the trucks all clean because the gloss is pretty much the same as the black plastic ont he outside when its armoraled. ill put a pic up if your interested in checking it out.

my truck is kind of dirty so it doesnt match 100% but when i shine it up its 99% dead on
sorry it just started raining and i didnt want to take my camera out in the rain too long. but yeah this is with no primer no finish coat no wet sanding. i basically sanded the paint off the little L pieces to make them smooth washed it wipes it all down and painted it, before i did it was about the same color as my car

Hey cougar how is this paint holding up , Looked real good did it stay that way.

Panels are holding up great! Even with a few things set against them, they are fairly resistant to scratches, and have not faded or peeled at all. I think the key was a few thin layers, rather than one gloppy thick layer.

I saw em about a month ago. They still look brand new. Carpet still looks the same too.
