87 4runner noise,...confused??
ok,..so ive got an 87 runner with 22re w56 and single case,..sounds like a squeeky belt on accel,..sounds like from under the rig...does not make that noise at idle or reving the engine,..noise will stop when i let off the gas in any gear...
it kinda resebles the sound an alt bearing would make if bad...
im almost certain its not from under the hood,..it seems to be under load only...any ideas?

I hope you get some info on this, I have a similar problem but I have a 88 4runner 3vze and automatic but my symptoms sound the same as your
In my case I seem to get a kind of loud rattling sound coming from my what seems like my driver side, the problem occurs when I'm usually on the freeways going around 55-60mph(i say maybe around there because my speedo seems off ) and when I let off the gas to just coast down hills or slow down the sound appears but momentarily only, but generally only around that speed (according to my speedometer) that I hear it.

Yeah dry something, well lubed parts don't make squeeling noises. The good news, if you can call it good, is you know it's most likeely not the wheel bearings. Check the cases, all of em, lube levels and grease up the shafts.
Vibrations and banging noises are always loose or failing somethings. Get under there and start tugging on stuff till you find something that moves. Evena little bit of play standing still moves a lot once up to speed. You can also look for dings/damage to the shafts, which will throw the balance off.
