87 4Runner Gas Leak w/picture

I am having a steady drip of gas leak from this particular spot under the hood. It's not the fuel filter I know, but I'm still pretty inexperienced with parts compared to most of yall out there.

In the picture you can see the gold cap to the left. That's where the leak is happening.

If that is the one that is on the front of the fuel rail, I believe that is the fuel dampner. As I understand it, later models did away with the dampner. I believe you can use a bolt or find a fuel rail that has the piece on it that does away with it and be alright without it.

I tried using a bolt to replace that dampner...but it still produced a leak. So I ended up buying a replacement from Autozone and it ended up working. The damn bolt from them was $80 though..

thanks for your help

This was the part at the cheapest I could find it http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...G7FBoC2iPw_wcB

Fuel Pressure Damper like you said. It was easy to take off and put back on. I just used a crescent wrench. Car had been off for a few hours.
