86 xcab SAS questions

Alright here goes, already cut out IFS completely, have my front leaf hanger tacked on, and holes cut out for the frame tubes. I ordered a kit from low range offroading and the bolts for the greasable shackles are not long enough it seems to go through the Frame tube and have the bushing and both shackel plates then put the nut on. And I noticed that all the bolts were the same length. Shouldn't the front bolts for the hanger be shorter than the bolts that go through the frame tubes??? Or is the frame tube supposed to be cut to the length I need? It seems to be 5/8" to long or the bolt 5/8" too short. And next and last question is how can I tell what size super flex leaf springs to get? I had a lift on my IFS, prob 3 or 4" but don't know if I should make sure the front is the exact same as the rear springs or how to even check and see what my rear leaf springs are?? Thanks and sorry for the ignorant questions.

Pictures would be nice, we can't see it from here and you're asking "Hey is this too short?"

There are three different lengths 120 130 and 150mm which ones do you have, and what does your parts list say you should have?

We offer our kits in three different heights with either 3", 4", or 5" springs. The hangers and shackles included with each kit add one inch of lift. Thus our 3" spring kit has 4" lift and our 4" kit would be 5" of lift, ect.
So you need to size your springs 1" shorter than your original lift to maintain the same heights.

I had a guy tell me to cut the frame tubes but I just don't think that is a good idea.

Uh reciepts or part numbers? Is it a spring lift or blocks? The stock frame height is in the service specs section of the FSM, or maybe it was suspension. You can math it out with the current measurments and the factory height.

I never could find the "original" spring height. But I never got around to asking a spring shop either.

Yeah definately going to need pictures. Kinda sounds like you don't have what I'm pictureing. I'm picturing the type that get welded to the bottom on the frame, and it sounds to me like you're describing a reinforcing plate that gets welded to the side of the frame.

These go below the frame, flat side up as they are pictured, not over the frame in case thats what you were trying todo with them

No the shackle mounts I'm talking about are steel tubes that go through the frame and are welded in place. Cut a hole through the frame under the front cab body mount. I think I need 150 mm bolts and they only sent me 120 mm's. I have a picture to upload but guess I can't do it through the mobile version of this forum
