Before I tackle my a/c systemm just wanting to know what common failures, loose connections, corroded wire, bad switches are issues in these older trucks. Don't have experience with a/c systems but this will be my daily driver so any advice is appreciated.

Being the truck is as old as it is the most common failure are the rubber hose gaskets leaking and rusty condensers.

I've seen rebuild kits with o rings. Never talked to anyone who has rebuilt there own. Any suggestions?

The first thing you really need to do is look over the system is it still closed??

Has it been open to the air the last few years??

Pull a vacuum it sucks to get it all fixed up only to find the evap coil is full of holes

This is the part in the heater box that can bring one real joy if your a hardcore masochist

It pretty much all comes down to how you were taught in HVAC

Pretty much test for leaks

then repair leaks

charge system

trouble shoot electrical side repair as needed
