Gottta go or I'd find it for you.
I looked at that site and couldnt find one, I downloaded the 1987 or 1988 specific one, and it doesnt list any other years on the manual... are the year just that close I could get away with the 1987 (or 1988) specific manual?

Thats sick, ya man 1st Gen 4runners are awesome.

As for my new baby...

first get the top painted, new weather stripping for the top and windows.

cut and grind the rust out and get that all done

get the back window fixed, it works but just not with the key in the tailgate

check out the fan clutch, she stays a little loud

get the sag out of there

in the future throw a OME medium load kit under it? maybe something else, but before the lift, get some 31 BFG All Terrains.

Cool

I used to have an 86 Pickup, best truck ever but unfortunately sold it so I wanted to get get a 4Runner with the 22re.

I'm probably going to be doing the same with the weather stripping, and fixing a few cancer spots.

The first thing i'll do is get rid of the sag though then get some 31s.

I was fortunate enough to find a guy who is the original owner and just retired so he no longer needs it. It does have a few miles on it but thats the beauty about the 22re's, simple and inexpensive to fix.

The body is pretty straight, the interior was redone and clutch rebuilt less then 100 miles.

It drives just as well as my 99 4Runner did.

No dents surprisingly, it has a few half dollar sized rust spots around the fender well but i'll be taking care of them hopefully soon. The previous owner kept it in the garage most of the time.

I'm stationed at Mountain Home AFB, but i'm from Utah. Excited to take it down to Moab and hit the trails.

Thats what I thought. The only thing is it has 292k on it and it never had the timing chain replaced. But there is no indication that it is about to go out. You'll have to keep me up to date with what and when you do stuff to it.

Congrats. Did you buff the red paint? It looks great.

The link to Factory Service Manual only gives the 88 but almost everything is the same between 84-89 4Runners except 84-85 have the single front axle. I think most parts are interchangeable except I've heard you should always replace the ECU with same year/motor/transmission ECU. I don't know if that's true though.

Nope I just washed it, she cleans up pretty good!

Ok cool ill download that then, also I have the owners manual for an 88 plus I bought the haynes manual.

Do you know anything about the back window? It rolls down and up but with only the middle consol button, it doesnt work when you put the key into the tailgate (which would be alot more convenient) also there is a horn but it is a button on the side of steering wheel... I have never seen anything like that.

Also what do you know about the safety/cancel button to the left of the steering wheel and the deck lamp switch is also to the left of the steering wheel??

Nice first gen, welcome to the club. The safety/cancel button is so you can start it without pushing the clutch in.

That safety/cancel button does come in handy. I know it sounds like a no brainer, but make sure you don't have it in gear when you do it..i've seen people lunge their trucks into other vehicles.
