Ok I was able to jump it to the down position. I am running a wild guess that it has to do with the relay system they have on the driver side. unfortunatley i have no clue how to fix that even if I had the parts. Any ideas if that can be by-passed?

Do you have the service panel off?
If so theres a white connector. Its 3 wire. the connector may be clipped up under the tail gate inside. Unplug it and jump a piece of wire in the first and thrid female terminals.
Problem fixed.
You are by-passing a "lock switch" in the tail-gate latch to the left side which goes out constantly in these trucks.

ok I got it figured out it ended up being a wiper issue. at least I got a chance to lube up the mechanism while I had everything off.
I found the fix on 4crawler along with a laundry list of why these things go out.
Thanks kiroshu.

Glad you got it fixed. Wiper would have been my first suggestion.
The 4 crawler site is good for troubleshooting so many things on these rigs.

John 101477, I was wondering when you regreased the gears what grease did you use. Also, what did you use as a cleaner to clean everything really good back there. My back window is very slow and make lots of noises when rolling up and down.

well I used some wd40 to clean it all up. as you can imagine this created a lot of crap on the window itself but i made sure to rinse with warm soapy water as well BEFORE rolling up the window. i made that mistake once already. as for grease a light white grease will do wonders. IMO your standard bearing grease will pick up to much dust but then again I need to pull off the panels to check and see how mine is after this last trail. I ran with the top off so i have not used the window in a few days.
