86 22RE Hesitation issue

Hey Guys,
My name is Vinny and I am new to the forum. I have a 86 22RE SR5 pickup 4x4 manual trans, no A/C with 240K miles on it. Last year I put a newer bed on it because the old one rusted out. Three years ago I put on a new timing chain with LCE guides. That all went great and the truck runs awesome except... the hesitation that developed about 1.5 years ago. Its not all the time, it seems to be there on part throttle while going thru the gears. Its not a bad hesitation, no bucking or backfires just like it intermittently goes down on power or like I was tapping the brakes. Happens more under load, idles just fine. I replaced the plugs, rotor, wires, cap, fuel filter,EGR, O2 and coil from rock auto.com and it did not really help much. I also had a compression test down and all cylinders were almost perfect, like new. I do get about 20-22 mpg. I seem to have a leak in the passenger footwell when it rains, I guess from the windshield (original) seal leaking. Is there anything behind the dash there that could be getting wet? although the hesitation is also there on nice dry hot days.
I like my stuff to run the way they should so this is really bothering me.
What should I try next? TPS, MAF, distributor?

My mechanic is has been helpful butwe can not pinpoint it.

Any ideas would be really great.
Thanks

Your ECU and circuit opening relay are on the passenger side, behind the kick panel so fix that leak asamfp . Moisture and / or corrosion on any of their terminals can cause issues.

22RE hesitation

I check the PCM behind the pass kickpanel, its dry and no signs of corrosion. I did black RTV the window seals just in case. I checked my cap and rotor they look fine.
I checked the vacum lines and they all checkout good.
I took it for a drive and the hesitation is there still.
I am about to order a distributor and TPS. Should I also replace the o2 with a toyota one? even thought the hesitation is there even wehn cold and the o2 would only make it hesitate when hot. disconnecting the o2 does not make ANY difference hot or cold.... what gives?
Geez keep old things running is tough....
thanks

Dont order a new tps just yet, you should test it first.
