$500 working 92 4runner

My good friend had a good running 4runner sitting. Wanna 500 for it, would you buy it? I really wanted a 3rd gen but 500 for a 92 seems like a crazy steal

well it's probably worth it. Is it rusty? I personally wouldn't try to DD a truck if it needed rust repair but i have lots of it so its just me

I would buy it if I had money laying around. A little TLC would get it back up to speed in no time!

$500 is a great buy for any vehicle, if you have need/use for it, no matter what it is. For a 4Runner? Even better!

Dude for 500 even if you didn't want it, you could part it out for maybe two/three times what you paid for it.... Go for it!

That being said, i'll take the receiver hitch.

I guess I will pull the trigger then, appreciate the insight guys. Little confused about what to do with the pipe that's missing that's suppose to connect to the muffler end. Super noob here

have you ever worked on a car before?

we all gotta start somewhere, just make sure that you don't get in over your head here... you could need tools and a place to work on it.

vehicles that have been sitting for, say, over a year often have multiple problems.

does this vehicle run?

Worked on a car yes, enough to say I have any real knowledge, No

However, the car is running, was being used by his girlfriend up until 3-4 months ago. Everything looks solid (except exhaust of course, and a couple little things like the sunroof being stuck, and the rear window motor giving out I believe).

Luckily I have some friends who are pretty solid mechanical wise (tools, etc), and this forum to help me out!

Had a Prado (1997, Manual Diesel) where I'm from (Jamaica), been in love with Toyota since. So I'm looking forward to working on my own and stamping my name on it.

that sounds good, i'd certainly be taking a close look at it... does your state have a smog check that you'll have to deal with?

a muffler shop should be able to weld in the missing exhaust pipe for pretty reasonable.

i used to work with a guy from jamaica... he was 54 years old, played soccer nearly every day, and chased skirt on social media like he was a kid! lol... he was well educated, well spoken, and he hated rastafarians... quite a character, i hope to work with him again some day.
