5 speed and efi conversion
Meet the Red Meany. She is a 86 ext cab 20r auto (yes 20r...ill explain in a sec). It started life as a 22re auto but sometime someone decided to put a 20r head and carb set-up on it. I got it almost a year ago but i didnt like it being auto or carbed. I am converting it back to a 22re and changing it to a 5 speed. Here is the progress so far...

22R and 20R blocks are not the same animal, but the head of the 20R on one of the older-style 22R blocks seems to be a pretty common performance modification.
Honestly, I'd leave it as is instead of putting a 22R head and the EFI setup back on, especially if all the sensors and wires from the EFI setup are gone. That'll be a RPITA to replace, methinks.

The reason i am doing this is because i have been having trouble out of it hear lately and all the wiring harness is still there from the previous efi system, but i am replacing it anyways. Actually it hasn't been that hard at all, everything has come off easy i have only been working on it for three days when i felt like it. The efi should fix all of my troubles and thats why i am going through with it.
