4x4 noises

My truck just started making a nice growling noise from the right front. It only does it when the hubs are locked in. If I shift from 2 to 4wd it stops for a bit. It does do it both in 4 and 2wd. Any ideas? Wheel bearings were just greased a few months back. 92 4x4 ifs

it could be the cv shaft rubbing inside the front hub. i would think that if it were the front bearings, it would do it all the time. might be the front diff bearing.

I grease them every 6 months or more, more if I do deep water crossings. What would be causing the joint to start rubbing
