4wd squeek/grinding noise

Hi.

i searched couldned find much help.. so i have a noise it only happens in 4wd.. i can unlock my hubs turn the 4wd on and i still get the noise... its a squeek or grind kinda like worn brakes or some metal to metal...

from my searching all i can think of is the spindle bushings?? or do you think the front drive shaft?? the brakes are new and its been fine all winter... dont get anynoise in 2wd and if i press the button to go from 4wd to 2wd i can hear the noise stop...

Probably one of the t2wo. How to tell which one? One way is to unbolt the front drive shaft then lock the front hubs and if the noise remains, is is not the drive shaft.

cause i have to drive it for a few days atleast in 2wd before i got a chance to look at it..

Yes, the joint will either feel overly tight or overly loose (like sloppy) or will feel gritty when moving.
