4runner... where do you mount your high lift
Just picked up a 48" hi-lift. Wondering where to mount it. I dont really want to put it up on the rack as that's just adding weight up high where I dont want it. What have other's done?

Well if you have the swing out tire rack on back you can make a mounting system for it and mount it there or if you have the 1st gen roll bar in side you can mount it off there those are the two ideas I am going to be trying for mounting mine.

I put mine up against the body under the top of the rear seats when they are folded down. Until I bolt my lock in, I have been using the center rear seat belt to secure it.

Why not just fab something in the cargo area, like to a side pannel, if you dont think thatll hold the weight, i would try right on top of the wheel well back there

With the 48", I'd build a standoff that would hold it along the rear of the roof, parallel to the gate, in front of the wiper motor cover. It's inside (protected), out of the way, and the weight is negligible. 2'nd option would be to build a rack over one of the rear tire wells and mount it to the wall.
